Ugljan - the fortress of St. Mihovil, offering an unforgettable view of the Zadar archipelago, dominates this green island lying opposite Zadar. Ošljak has an authentic fishing harbour, and while on Galevac a visit to the Franciscan monastery is a must. A hundred thousand olive trees from which oil exceptional quality is derived even today ensure the local two thousand-year-old olive-growing tradition.
For the past five centuries, down to the present day, a traditional boat procession celebrating the feast day of Our Lady of the Snows has taken place in Kukljica on the 5 August, while fishermen`s festivals are also held in other nerby towns.
