Kvarner is the region in Croatia with the longest tourist tradition. Europe's royalty, numerous eminent personalities, statesman and artists, the makers and shakers of their day, all chose the region as a holiday destination as far back as the 19th century. Today's guests will soon understand the reason why. Kvarner is an extraordinary natural entity, offering a unity of well-indented coastline and the scenic islands of the Croatian coast. As a backdrop note: the green and forested regions of Gorski Kotar and Lika, which reach high up into the clouds. This is where European and Mediterranean cultures meet - and blend.
Dalmatia, a tourist region of four counties, is the central part of the Adriatic coast that stretches, with its gentle green highlands hinterland and rivers and its thousand islands, from the North Velebit mountain range down to the southernmost border of Croatia south of Dubrovnik. Their diversity, the natural wealth, the national parks and the exceptional wealth of monuments of culture and history and its historical heritage make it a leader in Croatian tourism whose traditions in these parts has a history of more than 160 years. It is an area that tells the story of Croatian history better than any book could.
