IZREKA DANA:

"Bivši prijatelj je gori od neprijatelja."
narodna poslovica

In Fažana and its surroundings Roman patricians built their villas and villae rusticae and processed olives and grapes. The village called Vasianum in Roman times, situated across the Brijuni archipelago was named after the workshop for making amphorae and various pottery. Afterwards it developed into a typical fishing village that, after the Brijuni in the 1950s had become the residence of Josip Broz Tito, president of the then Yugoslavia, Fažana became the “gateway to the Brijuni”.

Situated at eight kilometres north of Pula, Fažana began its tourist development as late as the 1990s. However, its rich past, whose remains can still be seen, as well as its attractive position across the Brijuni, guarantee this village a nice future.

Today, Fažana and its surroundings are known for very fine olive oil.
